Mimir Integation

Configuring the Trint plugin in Mimir (Only admins need to do this)

1. Trint API Setup

Configuring Trint as a speech-to-text provider for transcription in Mimir.

Configuring API key:

Trint API Key: Add a Trint API key.  (Note - Mimir currently only supports Trint’s Legacy API keys).

Trint Domain:

Leave blank unless you are EU tenant users, in which case enter ‘eu.trint.com’.

Trint Workspace ID:

This will identify the shared drive in Trint in which all your Mimir transcripts will be saved. To find the ID, open the Shared Drive in the Trint WebApp, and copy the lasy segment from the URL (see below). All Trint plugin users must be members of that drive.

2. Allowing Trint to update transcript metadata in Mimir

To ensure that search and indexing in Mimir is synced to changes made in the Trint UI, we recommend adding this webhook to your callback setting in Trint.

Go back to your Trint API Key settings and enter callback details:
[your mimir url]/api/v1/trintWebHook.

Select the ‘New transcript version’ box.

3. Setting Trint as speech-to-text provider

In Mimir, under ‘Language’ settings, select Trint as the transcription provider for the languages you need.

This will apply to uploads and live transcriptions in those languages.

Automatic Language Detection is available on request from Trint, and currently only applies to live transcription.

4. Adding the Trint ID as metadata field

This ensures your Mimir assets are linked with the correct Trint transcript.

Under ‘Metadata’, select ‘Common’ from the drop down box and  add a new field.

The title should be ‘trint_id’ and it should be a text field.

5. Installing the plugin

This will make the Trint Plugin to visible to all your users in Mimir (though they will need a Trint account to login to the plugin).

Under ‘Integrations’, select the plugin tab.

1. The plugin URL should be

https://mimir.embed.trint.com/embed or
https://mimir.embed.eu.trint.com/embed

for clients on Trint’s EU tenant.

2. Under ‘Metadata Plugin Title’, add ‘Trint’

3. Enable: Always reload plugin.

User Guide

1. Logging in to the plugin

The first time you log in to the plugin, you will be prompted  to enter a One Time Passcode, which will be emailed to the address you use to log in to Trint.

You will stay logged in within Mimir for 14 days.

2. Accessing the plugin

For Mimir Assets that have been transcribed using Trint you will be able to navigate to a ‘Trint’ tab to access the Trint plugin. The transcript for uploads will not load until the transcription has finished.

Live transcriptions should begin appearing shortly after initiating the stream.

The usual Trint transcript editor UI will open, and be synced to video playback and monitoring in Mimir.

3. Using the Trint Editor in Mimir

4. Using Trint for text-based video editing

5. Using Trint to Export, Search, and Translate

Troubleshooting

Checking for the Trint ID

Once the Trint Plugin has been installed by an administrator, you will see a ‘trint_id’ appear in the metadata of content that has been transcribed by Trint.

If you cannot see it, reach out to your administrator to check settings.

Retriggering transcription

If you forgot to transcribe with Trint when the file was uploaded to Mimir, or need to retrigger the transcription, you can do this from the analytics tab in Mimir at any time by clicking ‘Run’ button next to Transcribe Status.
