Downloading Trint’s desktop app gives you all the functionality of our web experience, plus our innovative Trint Live functionality.

  • AI transcription: Trint’s automated transcription software can convert video, audio, and speech to text in more than 40 languages 
  • Live transcription: Capture and live transcribe anything on screen – such as videos, broadcasts and virtual meetings – or from your device mic and cam in 30+ languages, automatically detecting different language spoken in the same doc (how to access)
  • Access your transcripts: View your transcripts, story and caption files across your Trint library and easily share new files with colleagues.
  • Seamless sync: Seamless syncing between mobile and web. Playback, edit and comment on transcript just like our web app, helping to collaborate on live events as they happen.
  • Advanced features: Translate transcripts in up to 50+ languages and generate customizable AI summaries in a tap.
  • Choose your preferred language: Access to use Trint in English, French and German.

Getting started

You can use the Trint desktop app for all your usual tasks. The benefit is having it easily pinned on your main dock for quicker multitasking and ability to use Trint Live from desktop.

Mac OS installation steps:

  • Contact sales@trint.com to add the Trint desktop app to your Trint plan
  • Make sure to pull the Trint app into your ‘Applications’ folder before you open it
  • Guarantee easy access by adding the Trint app to your dock via “Keep in your dock

Windows OS installation steps:

  • Contact sales@trint.com to add the Trint desktop app to your Trint plan
  • Get in touch for enterprise-wide deployments with Microsoft Software Installer

Login to Trint and get to work

You will be redirected to a webpage to login to the app with your usual credentials. The desktop app requires an internet connection at all times and is not available offline.

How can I report an issue?

If you encounter any issues while using Trint Live on our desktop app, follow the steps below:

  1. Ensure you are on the latest version of the application
    When you open the Trint desktop app and a new version is available, it’s best to update as soon as possible when you see the prompt.
  2. Report an issue
    In the top bar of the desktop app select Help > Report an Issue to submit a report to our technical support team. This will help our engineers record and debug any issues promptly and create a better Trint experience for all users.

  • What if I don’t have a Trint account?
    No problem! Once you download the desktop app you will be able to start a new trial.
  • What if I do have a Trint account?
    Great news! Just go to the Account page and click on the big yellow Log In button, and enter your email to sign in.
  • Can the Trint desktop app do everything that the web app can?
    Yes, we have made a seamless experience between our web and desktop apps. The only difference is now Trint is just a click away rather than needing to open your internet browser and navigate to trint.com.
  • How do I use live transcription?
    Trint Live is a feature only available to Trint Enterprise and Advanced plans only. It allows users to capture and live transcribe anything on screen – such as videos, broadcasts and virtual meetings – or from your device mic and cam in 30+ languages, automatically detecting different language spoken in the same doc.
