Trint Live

How to capture, transcribe and collaborate from anywhere with Trint Live on Trint's desktop app

Updated over a week ago

Trint’s industry-leading live collaboration tool helps users capture and live transcribe anything on screen – such as videos, broadcasts and virtual meetings – or from your device mic & cam and share every word with colleagues in real time. This guide will show you how to start a live transcription and easily share with collaborators.

Trint Live on mobile is a feature only available to Trint Enterprise and Advanced plans only.

This support guide will cover:

Starting a Trint Live

Download the Trint desktop app free for Mac OS or Windows OS (contact sales@trint.com to add the Trint desktop app to your Trint plan) and log in using your Trint credentials. To start a live transcription, click the "Trint Live" button in the top corner of your dashboard.

The first time you do this you will see an info screen explaining how Trint Live works (tick the box at the bottom if you don’t want to see this again)

Live controls and settings

You have four options to choose what you would like to live transcribe and configure your capture settings

  • Select “Video or broadcast” to capture and live transcribe what’s playing on your desktop screen

    • Next choose the screen or browser tab to include in your Trint Live such as a stream, TV channel or video playing on your desktop
    • Then check your audio levels are coming through and test if required
  • Select “Virtual meeting” to capture and live transcribe a platform such as Google Meets or Zoom

Now you can add the final details to your Trint Live
  • You’ll see a summary of the Trint Live settings you have chosen and can also add a file name
  • Select a save location for the transcript such as a Shared Drive – making it seamless for collaborators to jump in and review the live transcript on any Trint platform (web, desktop or mobile).
  • Choose the language your transcription will be spoken in or enable Trint’s Auto Language Recognition feature to detect multiple languages in real time (available for custom plans – speak to sales@trint.com if you want to add this functionality)
  • Be aware that once you’ve started the Trint Live you can’t change your configuration options until the live has stopped, so be sure you’ve carefully reviewed your setup choices

Collaborating on live transcription

Once you have configured your Trint Live settings your live transcription will start in seconds. So you can sit back and watch your live Trint come through word by word.

  • With Trint’s live features, anyone with access to the transcription can edit the text and add speaker names as the transcript comes through. To make sure the right people have access from the start, click the "Trint Live" button in a Shared Drive to give all collaborators instant access to the live transcription.
  • If anyone doesn’t have access you can share with new collaborators and colleagues to help you work faster.
  • Highlight and comment on key moments as they happen and export sections of your transcript for time sensitive new stories.

The Trint Live banner

Use the Trint Live Banner to multitask and perform quick actions during a live transcription.

  • The Trint Live banner at the top of your screen lets you know that no matter where you are in Trint, you are still recording and live transcribing your content.
  • You can use this banner to perform quick actions such as stopping the Trint Live, dropping a Live Bookmark or opening the transcript view.
  • There is a maximum 3-hour limit on all Trint Live streams – check your Live Minute allowance in case you have less than this
