How to keep your desktop app up-to-date and functioning perfectly every day.
Versioning
If an update is available, your Trint desktop app should download updates automatically upon loading, and you will see a pop-up asking you to restart your desktop app to apply the update.
You can opt to restart your Trint desktop app immediately, or opt to do so later. Please note that restarting your desktop app will stop any ongoing live transcriptions started from your desktop app.
We always recommend restarting your app as soon as the pop-up appears, but we understand that this is not always possible. If you select the Later option, it will apply the update the next time you load the app.
You can view the version of your desktop app by clicking on Help in the menu bar at the very top, and then on About Trint.
You can also manually check if any updates are available by clicking on Trint in the menu bar, and then on Check for updates.
Troubleshooting
If you see an error when updating your app, we recommend trying again in a few minutes.
If you continue to see an error, please try the following:
- Uninstall your Trint desktop app
- For Windows users:
- Click the search area in the taskbar, type "Control Panel", select it to open, choose Programs > Programs and Features, find Trint, right-click, and select Uninstall
- For Mac users
- Go to your Applications folder in your Finder, find Trint and right-click to select Move to Bin
- You will also have to remove Trint’s permissions by opening System Preferences > Privacy & Security > Screen & System audio recording, clicking on Trint in the list and then on the - icon below. Toggling it to disable permissions is not sufficient as Trint needs to be removed from the list entirely.
- For Windows users:
- Once the old version is uninstalled, you can download the latest version
